Vietnam coffee – April exports seen down on lower price

Coffee export loading in this month in Vietnam, the world’s second largest producer after Brazil, is forecast between 140,000 and 190,000 ton ( 2,3 million and 3,2 million bags ), down from an estimated 200,000 ton shipped in March, hit by lower price, traders said on Tuesday.
Exporters have slowed sales as price have eased in the past month in Vietnam, leading to possible lower shipments in April, they said. Vietnamses coffee prices, which closely track London market movements, eased to 39,200 to 39,300 dong ($1.88, $1.89 ) per kg on Tuesday  in the key growing province of  DakLak, from 39,800 to 40,100 dong a week ago.
“ At the current prices farmers are not willing to sell, so supplies are low and exporters may not have much to ship this month,” a trader in Hochiminh city said .
Indonesia coffee roasters may start importing beans again from Vietnam because of difficulties in getting supplies even during the harvest regional dealers said last week.
